Do I need to
have a Web site already in order to use the system? |
|
|
No - Affinity Business
Systems can create a site for you to act as a front end
for the system, too. There is some added cost per month
but the development of the site will be custom for your
school and free for development. |

If I
already have a site, will I need to switch to an
Affinity-built site to make the system work? |
|
|
No - the
system was designed with the expectation that most
schools already have Web sites. The portions of the
system that are considered 'public' (forms, calendar,
etc) can be 'bolted' on the back end of your system
using links. It's a very simple process. |

How is
attendance taken? Do you use ID cards for the students? |
|
|
There is no
plan to use school generated ID cards to the students to
'swipe-in' their attendance at this time. This decision
was made in consult with school owners who have many,
many years of experience managing schools and have tried
that approach. Students forgetting or losing cards (and
the administrative overhead and cost associated with
this), questionable swiping practices and the bottleneck
at the swipe readers between classes were some of the
reasons to forego this approach.
Attendance is taken
manually by the teacher in class from a form printed by
the system and then easily entered into the system
through a single form. This helps instructors learn the
names of students, interact some with them and
guarantees an 'eyes-on' confirmation of attendance. |

What
service is used to process online purchases and is it
secure? |
|
|
At the moment
the only clearinghouse we connect to for credit card
processing is Authorize.net. There are plans to expand
this, though to Paypal and some others, but that will
occur in version 2.0 of this system - expected some time
in 2009. |
